Electronic Monitoring Program, Juvenile Crimes
The Santa Cruz County Probation Department's Electronic Monitoring Program is an intensive home supervision program for juveniles or youths charged with juvenile crimes. Youths are supervised electronically. In addition to the electronic monitoring, youths are supervised by personal contact with a probation officer from the Santa Cruz County Probation Office. A youth is fitted with a transmitter. The transmitter is attached to the youth's ankle by a strap. A receiver is attached to the youth's telephone. Should the youth travel outside of his home, the receiver reports the travel to the electronic monitoring supervision center. The supervision center then reports the unauthorized travel to Santa Cruz County Probation. Contact Christine McGuire, The Santa Cruz County Juvenile Defense Attorney.
