Inmate Services at the Santa Cruz County Jails
Persons housed at the Main Jail in Santa Cruz County for misdemeanors such as driving under the influence or domestic violence or felonies such as drug offenses and sex crimes may see visitors in one of the five visiting rooms during visiting hours. All visits are audio recorded. Inmates and visitors are separated by a wire and plexiglass barrier. Inmates must complete a visitor request form before any visits will be allowed. Staff at the Main Jail must pre-approve all visitors before they are scheduled. The inmate's visitor lists can be updated only once every 30 days from the date they are scheduled. Friends Outside helps maintain outside contacts and assists inmates in conducting necessary transactions. The jail chaplain provides religious services. Programs are also offered by Alcoholic Anyonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). For phone calls, inmates must either call collect or use a purchased phone card.
