What are the Premium Rates for Bail Bonds in California

There are three filed premium rates that bondsmen must charge in the State of California for bail bonds in connection with misdemeanor charges such as DUIs, Domestic  Violence and felony charges such as Sex Crimes, Drug Crimes.  Ten percent (10%) is the most common rate that bondsmen charge.  It is the state regulated fee that all bondsmen must charge.  Eight percent (8%) is the next premium rate.  To qualify for an 8% bond, the client must meet one of a number of different criteria.  Criteria may include having a retained attorney or cash collateral.  Fifteen percent (15%) is the next premium rate.  It is used for high risk felony cases.  If you have been arrested or charged with a misdemeanor or felony, contact Christine McGuire, the Santa Cruz Criminal Defense Attorney.
