Domestic Violence and The Lautenberg Amendment

The Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 became effective September 30, 1996.  The Lautenberg Amendment potentially affects any soldier who has been convicted of domestic violence or who is currently subject to an active restraining order.
