Juvenile Misdemeanor Arrest and Citation Records/Expungements

A person who as a minor was arrested for a misdemeanor offense may have the arrest record of the misdemeanor offense and his or her juvenile court record related to the misdemeanor offense sealed if he or she was released for lack of probable cause, the juvenile court proceedings were dismissed or he or she was acquitted of the misdemeanor offense. This law also applies to minors found unit for juvenile court when criminal proceedings in adult court were terminated without a conviction. Section 851.7 does not apply to minors who are taken into temporary custody pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 625 and then released without further proceedings.   Contact Christine McGuire, the Santa Cruz Expungement Attorney.
