Sex Offender Tracking Program and Exclusion From Website
Not all registered sex offenders appear on the internet web site Twenty Five percent of registered sex offenders are excluded from public disclosure on the internet web site by law Public disclosure is permitted based on the type of sex crime for which the person is required to register. The Sex Offender Tracking Program is responsible for determining if a sex offender registrant qualifies for exclusion if he or she applies for exclusion. Persons whose registrable sex offenses are for sexual battery by restraint, misdemeanor child molestation, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 or continuous sexual abuse of a child if the person was convicted of section 288 or 288.5 and successfully completed probation may apply for exclusion from the internet website. If a person is excluded he or she must still register as a sex offender. If you are arrested or charged with a sex crime, contact Christine McGuire,
