Cyberbullying Law
An existing California law gives school officials the right to suspend or expel students for bullying another student over the internet or by other electronic means. That law has been amended to include bullying others through social networking websites. AB 746 was sponsored by Assemblywoman Nora Campos from San Jose and was signed into law recently by Governor Brown. AB 746 amends the law that went into effect in 2009.
