New State Laws Take Effect

At the start of the new fiscal year for California a number of new state laws took effect. Yellow hybrid carpool lane stickers are no longer valid. Solo drivers in the carpool lane regardless of whether they have stickers will be cited. Traffic school for traffic violations will no longer erase a traffic offense from a driver's record if the offense is the second offense within 18 months, is a two point violation or occurred when the driver was operating a commercial vehicle.
