Jurors and Court's Instructions

The court has a duty to instruct jurors on how they must conduct themselves during trial.  The jury is instruted to avoid discussing the case.  The jury is instructed to avoid news reports.  The jury is also instructed not to conduct independent research.  In People v Danks, a capital case, two jurors violated the court's admonition not to discuss the case with anyone by consulting with their pastors regarding the death penalty.
