Juvenile Crimes Disposition Hearing
The disposition hearing for a juvenile is held after the jurisdiction hearing. A judge may continue the disposition hearing to receive a social study of the probation officer or to refer the minor to a juvenile justice community resource program. If the minor is detained the hearing may not exceed 10 court days or 30 days from the filing of the petition if the minor is not detained. The judge may also grant a continuance for an additional 15 days if there is good cause if the minor is not detained. During any of these period of times, the judge may order the minor detained or released from detention.
