New Laws for 2012!!

What it is all about:

Amends Penal Code Section 273.5

Existing law provides that any person who willfully inflcits upon his or her spouse, former spouse, conhabitant, former cohabitant, or the mother or father of his or her child, corporal inury resulting in a tramatic condition is guilty of a wobbler.

Existing law defines traumatic condition to mean a condition of the body, such as wound or external or internal injury whether of a minor or serious nature, caused by a physcial force.

What the new law changes:

This new law would specify that "traumatic condition: includes injury as a result of strangulation or suffocation and defines the terms strangulation and suffocation.
