Professional Licenses and Certificates: Physicians and Surgeons While Incarerated for Misdemeanor

New Laws for 2012!!

What it is all about:

Adds Business and Professions Code section 2236.2

(a) A physician and surgeon certificate shall be automatically placed on inactive status during any period of time that the holder is incarerated after convication of a misdemeanor.

(b) The certificate should be returned to its prior appropriate status when the physician an surgeon is no longer incarcertated.

(c) The reason for the inactive status descrived in subdivision (a) shall be disclosed on the board internet Web Site.
