What to expect at a Juvenile Adjudication Hearing Regarding Timing of the Hearing
The law sets out deadlines for when a adjudication hearing also known as
a trial in juvenile must take place.
If the minor is in custody, then the minor has a right to have the adjudication
hearing within 15 court days of the date detention was ordered. Court
days do not include weekends and holidays.
This time frame is longer when it comes to adjuciation hearings for minors
who are not in custody. In those cases, the minor has a right to have
the trial within 30 calendar days after the filing of the petition. by
